Some of the most notable trades that had a significant impact on the league are still discussed publicly.

Kobe Bryant was traded from the Hornets to the Lakers in 1996; the Lakers won five NBA titles with him, while the Hornets won one in 2015.

Acquired by Barkley in a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers; Barkley later won the NBA MVP award while playing for the Suns.

Phoenix Suns sign Charles Barkley (1992)

He was traded to the 76ers from Trail Blazers. Secured two NBA championships, leading to their 1983 title victory. Trail Blazers won their first title in 1977. 

Moses Malone (1976)

Traded to Mavericks in 1998 for Tractor Traylor and a first-round pick. Nowitzki's greatness led the Mavericks to the 2011 title. The Bucks last won a championship in 1971.

Ken Norton Jr. attacked him and pulled him James Worthy(1980)- Acquired by Lakers for Don Ford and Chad Kinch. The Cavaliers' 1982 pick turned into Worthy.

James Worthy(1980)

A basketball legend, was traded to the Lakers in 1968 for Jerry Lucas and two first-round picks. The Lakers secured five championships with Chamberlain.

Wilt Chamberlain

Traded to Bulls for Olden Polynice and a first-round pick. Pippen became one of the greatest players in NBA history. The Bulls won six championships with him, in 1996.
