Throughout the history of every NFL organization, some seasons appear to be fairly injury-free, while others appear to be plagued by one catastrophic injury after another.

ALEX SMITH (2018)

Smith's right leg twisted beneath him while being sacked by two Houston Texans defenders, resulting in a complex fracture that shattered both his right tibia and right fibula

TIM KRUMRIE (1989)

Tim Krumrie attempted to tackle Roger Craig during a game, but his cleat became trapped in the turf, inflicting four fractures in his lower left leg.

Destry Wright

He had a career-ending injury, shattering his right leg and badly dislocating his ankle. Wright never played another snap after undergoing numerous operations.

JEFF FULLER (1989)

Unfortunately, his career ended in 1989 after he committed a helmet-to-helmet hit on an opponent during a tackle against the Patriots.

NAPOLEON MCCALLUM (1994)

Ken Norton Jr. attacked him and pulled him down, his leg hyperextended.

Darryl Stingley's 1978 injury led to rule changes & emphasized player safety. Still one of football's worst moments.

RASHAD JOHNSON (2013)

He didn't realize he'd lost the tip of his middle finger until he attempted to remove his glove after covering a punt return against the Saints.
