Shaquille O'Neal and Damian Lillard got into a brief yet entertaining rap feud back in 2019. The two went at it like ballers and had a nice back and forth.
Lillard's statement that he was a better rapper than Shaq when he appeared on The Joe Budden Podcast was the trigger for the entire situation.
Shaq responded harshly to the challenge by releasing the song "Reign Reign Go Away." It was all about big fella’s big lifestyle.
Lillard retaliated with his own diss track called “I Rest My Case”. After exchanging insults for a few days, the feud gradually died down.
Shaq's diss track is a puff piece. He brags about his rings, money, and size. He also calls Dame a wannabe and a fraud.
REIGN REIGN GO AWAY
This song attacks Shaq specifically. Shaq's lack of playoff success and thinning hairline are all discussed in Lillard's rap. He also refers to Shaq as a "bully" and a "coward."
I REST MY CASE
So, who won the rap beef? It's difficult to say for sure. Shaq's song was more well-known, but Lillard's lyrics were more meaningful and compelling. Ultimately, it's up to the listener to decide.
