Commenced in 1935, Sugar Bowl is one of the most prestigious football events held annually in Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana.

It was founded by New Orleans reporter James M. Thomson, who longed for a bowl game to rival the Rose Bowl. It is one of the oldest national bowl games right behind the Rose Bowl, no wonder the winner of each plays against the other in the finals.

2024 Sugar Bowl Game

This year’s Sugar Bowl is officially called the Allstate Sugar Bowl as it is sponsored by the insurance company, Allstate. The 90th annual Sugar Bowl game is between the 2nd-ranked Washington Huskies of the Pac-12 and 3rd-ranked Texas Longhorns of the Big 12 and is scheduled to be played on 1st January 2024 at Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN and will start exactly at 7:45 p.m. CST.

How To Watch the Sugar Bowl Parade

You can catch the Sugar Bowl New Year’s Eve Parade live on WDSU-TV at 2:30 pm CST. The parade starts at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and Decatur Street in the heart of the French Quarter, following Decatur Street along the Mississippi River, and ends at Canal Street.

Expect to see a lot of purple, gold, and green floats, marching bands, and dance groups.
