Early Life
Jimbo Fisher, who went by the nickname “Jim,” was born as James Winston Fisher Jr. on Oct. 9, 1965, in Clarksburg, W.Va. During his early days, he had spent his childhood in Prichard, West Virginia along with his parents and attended Prichard high school. In high school, Fisher played football, basketball, and baseball. He was also a member of the National Honor Society.

John James Fisher and Gloria Fisher are the parents of Jimbo Fisher who is married to his wife, Courtney. They have two children together, a son named Ethan, and a daughter named Addison. Bryan Fisher, a brother of Jimbo, ran the family farm and was the offensive coordinator at Fairmont State University. Bryan is now a teacher, and Gloria Fisher teaches chemistry at Robert C. High School and College Career
Jimbo Fisher played college football at Salem University in Salem, West Virginia. He was a four-year starter at quarterback and was named the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 1987. Fisher led Salem to the NAIA Division I National Championship game in 1987, but they lost to Carson-Newman College.

When he went to Florida State University in 2007 and took over as head coach he went there as an assistant. Under him, the Seminoles finished with a 10–4 record in his first year. Fisher guided Florida State to a perfect 13-0 record in 2009 and its first BCS National Championship. He was named AP Coach of the Year as well as AFCA Coach of the Year.
