Nicole DeBoer was born in December of 1978. Her parents, Terry and Lori Tendler had her in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she grew up falling in love with the game of basketball.

Nicole DeBoer, who graduated from Augustana University in 2001 with a degree in fitness management, was also a member of the university’s basketball team.

Nicole and Kalen DeBoer first met in the summer of 2000, when Kalen was an offensive coordinator at the University of Sioux Falls. According to the couple, it was love at first sight as both of them just fell head over heels for the other. It should come as no surprise that they got married a year later.

Kalen DeBoer and Nicole Tendler tied the knot soon after graduation, on December 29, 2001, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls with reverend Don Lehmann officiating the wedding ceremony.

Kalen and Nicole have two beautiful daughters: Avery and Alexis. Avery is currently studying in sixth grade and reportedly loves riding horses.
Alexis on the other hand played softball at Bellevue High and decided to join her father at the University of Washington in November of 2023. While attending one of her games, Kalen said, “When your kids are involved and you can support them, having the chance to do that, it’s a lot of fun.”
