Cameron Rising’s journey in college football has had its ups and downs. After taking a year off at Texas in 2018, he moved to Utah in 2019. He redshirted again that year. He later competed for the starting position in 2020. Although he was selected to start against USC, his season was cut short due to a shoulder injury during the quarter of that game.
In 2021, Rising returned from his injury. He has secured the starting role. It turned out to be a season for him with 2,490 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. On top of that, he showcased his rushing skills by gaining 409 yards and scoring six touchdowns on the ground.
His outstanding performance earned him recognition as the First Team All-Pac-12 quarterback. Continuing his success into 2022, Rising led the Utes to a record of 10 4, clinching the Pac 12 Championship title.
