Interestingly, Eunice Rising attended the school in California as Tom Herman, the current football coach for Florida Atlantic and former Texas Longhorns coach. This connection benefitted Herman while recruiting Rising to join the Longhorns team.

Cameron Rising attended Newbury Park High School located in Newbury Park, California. He had the role of quarterback for the Panthers. He received the title of Marmonte League Offensive Player of the Year in 2017.

Additionally, he was selected as part of the All-Southern Section. Under Rising’s leadership, Newbury Park won the CIF Southern Section Division 2 championship in 2016.

That season, he showcased his skills by throwing for 3,490 yards and accumulating 40 touchdowns. In his year at school, he continued to excel with a record-breaking performance of 3,230 passing yards and an impressive tally of 35 touchdowns.

Rising gained recognition as a regarded quarterback during his time in high school. He earned a four-star rating from Rivals.com and 247Sports.com as one of the country’s dual-threat quarterbacks.

Initially committing to play college football at the University of Texas, Austin Rising later transferred to the University of Utah after completing his redshirt season at Texas.

Cam Rising College Career

Cameron Rising’s journey in college football has had its ups and downs. After taking a year off at Texas in 2018, he moved to Utah in 2019. He redshirted again that year. He later competed for the starting position in 2020. Although he was selected to start against USC, his season was cut short due to a shoulder injury during the quarter of that game.

In 2021, Rising returned from his injury. He has secured the starting role. It turned out to be a season for him with 2,490 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. On top of that, he showcased his rushing skills by gaining 409 yards and scoring six touchdowns on the ground.

His outstanding performance earned him recognition as the First Team All-Pac-12 quarterback. Continuing his success into 2022, Rising led the Utes to a record of 10 4, clinching the Pac 12 Championship title. Throughout that season, he threw for 3,304 yards while recording 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Additionally, he contributed on the ground with another six touchdowns. He was logging in 465 rushing yards. His exceptional display earned him recognition as the MVP of the Pac-12 Championship game.
