Average Women’s Drive on the LPGA in 2023: How Far Are They Hitting It?

Date:

The 2023 LPGA tour has unveiled the average driving distances for women golfers. This metric signifies the distance covered by a player’s shot.

Leading the recently disclosed roster is Xiaowen Yin, an 18-year-old rookie golfer, demonstrating remarkable prowess. Trailing her is Natthakritta Vongtaveelap, a 20-year-old Thai golfer also in her rookie season.

Curiously, the reigning World No. 1, Nelly Korda, boasts an average driving distance of 268,840 yards this season, securing the 17th rank.

According to Golf Monthly reports, the average driving distance for a female golfer stands at approximately 210 yards at the age of 30. Yet, this figure tends to diminish with advancing age. A 60-year-old female golfer registers an average driving distance of about 164 yards.

How far do LPGA drives go

With the best average driving distance (in yards), Here is the list of female golfers:

Xiaowen Yin (278.940)

Claiming a top spot on the list this season is an 18-year-old golfer from China. The rationale behind her inclusion is quite evident: her youth. Despite delivering impressive long shots, her rookie year has yet to yield significant triumphs. Out of thirteen starts, she managed to make the cut in merely four instances throughout the season.

Natthakritta Vongtaveelap (278.070)

A 20-year-old Thai golfer, entering her rookie year on the LPGA Tour, commands attention. Her initial performances showcased a glimpse of her potential, but the momentum faltered along the way. Across eight appearances this season, she faced setbacks, missing the cut on four occasions and encountering disqualification from the US Women’s Open.

Maude-Aimee Leblanc (277.450)

Securing the third spot on the list is a 34-year-old Canadian contender. Regrettably, success has eluded her as well, with a mere three successful cuts out of seven attempts on the LPGA Tour in the current year.

Leading the roster is a 30-year-old Swedish golfer, notable for clinching an LPGA Tour title. Her ongoing season has been commendable, securing two placements within the top 10 rankings.

Yan Liu (274.690)

Positioned at the sixth spot is a 25-year-old golfer from China. Her remarkable showing on the Epson Tour paved the way for her LPGA Tour card in the current season. A standout achievement includes a solo third-place finish in the ShopRite LPGA Classic.
